I like this. You are giving voice to what Anne Carson calls "Decreation." Or, at least, I think you are.

But then you return to french fries and the this-ness of this world.

This poem is a great start. One step at a time my young friend
I love how the acute sense of struggle is resolved, partially, with the relaxing images in the last four lines.
