The Brackish Water Psalter

I grew up playing and working on Weeks Bay in Fairhope, Alabama. Weeks Bay is brackish water, which is a combination of freshwater flowing from the Magnolia and Fish Rivers and seawater from Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The result is murky, salty water that is not quite fresh and not quite sea. I was formed standing knee-deep in brackish water - caught in the in-between space.

This newsletter features a reflection and a poem each week(-ish) that will take its place in the Psalter.

This newsletter is a mix of poetry and contemplative nonfiction from the in-between of everyday life. Brackish water is a combination of freshwater flowing from rivers and seawater from the ocean. The result is a life-giving mix that defies definition.
